Hey Parents, we’re talking to you!  

At Ceremony, we’ve started a new movement in travel for young adults. We believe that graduating students deserve to celebrate how hard they’ve worked to achieve their goals and advance to adulthood. Our travel experiences are a chance for students to come together with their friends and other students from across Canada to celebrate their achievements, experience new adventures and to create memories they’ll never forget. 

We understand how you may be feeling sending your son or daughter to travel for the first time without you, so we have put together some information to outline all the safety measures that we have put in place to ensure they’re in good hands! Our team has been providing life-changing experiences for students for over 30+ years, so we’ve got it down. We are happy to be a part of this amazing time in our traveller’s transition to a new phase of life and are looking forward to providing this experience for your son or daughter! However, it’s not all fun and games. We only have this many years and happy customers to show for it because we focus on keeping these trips as safe as they are fun. Ceremony Guides

Our Ceremony Guides are there to provide a safe and fun experience for our travellers for the duration of their trip! Our Guides will greet the travellers upon arrival to their destination and bring them to their hotel. All 3 types of our Ceremony Guides receive extensive training prior to any trips, as well as background checks prior to joining our team. They are all avid travellers themselves and are certain to be the best people to show our travellers the best experience in a new place! The types of Guides you can find on every Ceremony trip are:

• Master Guides: They organize all the logistics, including coordinating with hotels and all group travel. 
• Destination Specialist: They are experts on the specific destination you are visiting! They are there to provide some additional information for you. 
• Ceremony Guides: They facilitate the on-site activities, such as pool activities, night events, and are of course available to you 24/7!

Safety Initiatives

• Arrival procedures: You will be greeted by Master Guides upon arrival at the airport and they will assist you throughout your journey to the destination. Upon arrival at the hotel, all travellers will be required to attend a short briefing that reviews all of the important traveller information, Ceremony Code of Conduct, and all hotel policies. 
• Ceremony Traveler Guidelines: We have compiled some simple guidelines that each traveller and their parents must sign off on before departure. These guidelines clearly outline all the rules and expectations of how the travellers are to behave while on destination with Ceremony. The guidelines are easily accessible in our brochure as well as on our website!
• Manulife Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is included with every package. We provide basic medical coverage in the event of an illness or an injury while on destination. If you’d like to purchase additional insurance, that is available also available and can be added by logging into your My Profile.
• Contacting travellers throughout their trip: We suggest that all travellers bring their own phones and use messaging apps that use wifi such as WhatsApp or iMessage. We also provide a 24/7 emergency hotline.
• Age of Majority: The drinking age in all of our destination countries is 18 years old. We always try to help our travellers make smart decisions and encourage them to drink responsibly if they are of legal age to participate.

We ask all parents to get involved in the process! We have a few things that you as parents can do to help ensure your son or daughter is well-prepared before departing for their trip! We recommend you facilitate an open conversation with your child about some of the situations they may come across while travelling abroad without their family.
